Last week, students brainstormed about an obstacle that they overcame and produced a personal narrative.
This week, we will: Monday- Peer Edit our Personal Narrative. Tuesday- Take our Literary Assessment 1 for Quarter 1. Wednesday-Close read, "Thank you Ma'am" by Langston Hughes. Thursday- Explore elements of the story, "Thank you Ma'am." Friday- Publish our Personal Narrative using the Cobb Teaching Learning System.

This week, we will: Monday- No School Tuesday-Take our Descriptive Language Assessment. Wednesday-Unpack our first Writing Assessment; Create a rubric checklist. Thursday-Learn how to hook our readers. Friday- Learn how to provide a reflective conclusion. This week, students will analyze the author's use of descriptive language in personal narratives. Students will also analyze the effect the descriptive language has on readers.
Monday- Take notes on Descriptive Language Tuesday-Close read, The Jacket and mark the text for Descriptive Language. Wednesday- Timed writing assessment on Descriptive Language. Thursday- Descriptive Language stations. Friday- The Jacket assessment and trip to the media center. |
